Feel like one of the walking undead today... X@
Went to school early today as I had a test first thing in the morning. The score for the test is going to determine 1/4 of my grade for the subject so it's quite a big deal... Was surprised to find out that one of my classmates didn't turn up for the test. Must be really sick to skip!
Went through the rest of the day wishing I had more time to grab food but due to some stuff I had to do, I had to make do with just 2 mini curry puffs for breakfast and 2 mini curry puffs for lunch(Yes I try to have a balanced meal all the time!)
In the afternoon, we had a sharing session with some experienced teachers (together they have about 90yrs of experience!OMG!) I notice that teachers who can endure for long periods tend to be those with a good sense of humour(they really need to know when to laugh their cares away!) I thought it was really good and when I plucked up the courage to ask the teachers a question, I was surprised that the lecture hall was so quiet...
Dr. Chew: Anyone has a question? Please feel free to ask.ME: Ummm.... I would like to ask a question. Given hindsight, what is the one thing that you know now which you wished someone would have told you when you first started teaching?*stunned silence*Dr. Chew: Uh.... that is a good question. Mrs N, would you like to answer? At this point Mrs N decides to pass it along to Mr. F who thinks for a short while and says that he wished someone would remind him that he is not Superman.
As teachers, we want to have all the answers and solutions. We don't want to let our kids down or be a lousy role model. So we try our best to think up amazing ideas for lessons, and we try to do everything in class like the Energizer bunny(no need to change batteries!) However it is true that we only need to do our best (and it will be clear enough to our kids). All the best again to my kids who are having their SA2 exams this week!Labels: Teachers sharing, zombie
