Yesterday's ktv session didn't happen as DW was already pre-booked by her colleagues, but I did join her at GV Marina for dinner and a show. We wanted to catch the Coffin, but it wasn't showing at Marina. Which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We ended up catching REC,which was really a scary show that proves you don't have to have a humongous budget to make a good horror movie.
Coincidentally, the I-S magazine that I picked up over dinner at Swensen's reviewed both shows and REC was rated 4 times better!
The story starts simply with a television reporter with her cameraman shooting a lifestyle story about the lives of firemen. A late night call to an apartment building sends the reporter with the firemen to the flat of an blood soaked old lady who seemed to be having some kind of a fit. The entire story is filmed from the perspective of the camera using a style similar to the Blair Witch Project. We ended up watching the last 45 minutes of the show through the cracks between our fingers.
Yup, it's that scary.
